From Our Founder Raymond Frederick Oelrich

Help Us Save Lives is dedicated to enhancing, protecting, and saving lives through our multimedia projects. In partnership with our production company, Handcraft Film,  we produce and distribute documentaries,  docu-series TV shows, as well as upcoming feature films, slated for production in 2023, and beyond. See our current projects below.

The income earned from our related companies, along with our sponsor's and advertisers' support, helps fund these projects.

During the  Covid-19 pandemic, many millions of people have been and will continue to be, shut in their homes, OR have now decided not to return to the job they had. Many of these people are struggling to put food on the table, especially with the rise in food costs over the last year. This increases the risk of depression, spousal and domestic abuse, substance abuse, and even suicide. We have documentaries to address each of these issues and we are asking you to help sponsor one or more of our videos to help those in need. If you are interested in working with us, sponsoring a video, or creating your own, please contact me on the link below.

My Motive and Mission Statement

I was asked the backstory on the docu-series TV show I'm producing to help save lives. As a kid, I wanted to be like Superman; be there when kids were being bullied at school, or a woman or girl being raped, or police beating up someone or extorting free sex from a hooker instead of arresting her. (Worse yet, the police in a city in Southern California actually murdered many prostitutes and refused to convict the guilty). To see a GREAT movie, similar to this, watch "City of Lies" on Netflix about police involvement in the murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.

I longed to keep moms and kids safe from abusive men that beat the shit out of them, or bullies and gangs that ruled the neighborhoods in LA where I grew up in the 60s. I wanted to bring a blanket to someone dying of cold on a city street because the politicians were sleeping in warm homes and eating hot meals, trying to solve homelessness. I vowed to FIND a way to keep young people from killing themselves in cars, trying to show off, and driving too fast. (I did that doc!) I yearned to find a way to keep people alive that chose to die, simply because the pain of LIVING was worse than the choice of taking their own life. I wanted to help feed people that are dying of hunger or lack of clean water. (In Canada, where I live, some native people STILL have to boil their water to drink it). In some countries, there's no water or food, and millions of people die.

I realized I was NOT going to become Superman, Spiderman, or Jack Reacher; always there to save the day! I decided to do the next best thing! I realized to change HUMAN behavior you must change their attitude, habits, and actions! To do that you had to raise awareness, so they KNOW what they are about to do is wrong, and choose not to do to it. I believe we need the three "C's" to solve this; counseling, change, and correction. We need to provide all types of counseling to educate and change behavior, and if they CANNOT or WILL NOT change, then put them into a correction facility (jail, halfway house, home arrest, hospital, or prison) unless and until they DO CHANGE.

Our court system is broken! We give convicted felons a free ride, release them on OR (own recognizance) to appear in court, and hand out light sentences or suspended sentences, even in the most serious of crimes. There is no easy answer, no quick fix or silver bullet here. Money alone does not solve it. We need to find ways to replace anger with love, resentment, and hatred with compassion and understanding. I believe media can help; movies, TV shows, songs, interactive video games (non-violent ones), and music, can all help heal. That's the premise of my videos and TV show.If you wish to sponsor one or more of these or get involved, by all means, I can sure use the help! (Free cape provided!)

Repeat Offenders- The Revolving Door

In most cities and countries the majority of crimes commited are by re-offending felons or convicted criminals. According to the Kelowna Capital News story (May 5, 2022) in December 2021, Kelowna RCMP identified 15 people who had 1,039 negative contacts with police in the first 11 months of the year.

One particular offender has generated 346 RCMP files since 2016 and received 29 convictions for property crime and assault offences. The individual has “no-go” conditions to 11 businesses but has been routinely released with conditions and continues to re-offend. https://www.kelownacapnews.com/news/kelowna-mayor-basran-backs-provincial-crackdown-on-prolific-offenders
